It’s not as easy as it sounds, is it?
You may have often heard that ‘letting go’ is the way to get what you really want in life- or that all of your desires are simply ‘downstream’. I have written before on how detachment and manifestation go hand in hand. It sounds unbelievably simple….but that doesn’t make it easy.
There comes a point on our path that we must make a ‘leap of faith’- jumping off the proverbial cliff of our dysfunctional sense of control and into the unknown. If you read my previous post on the unknown, you know how crucial this is. It is at this point we also realize the truth: this can be very scary. Up until now, your sense of control, while illusory, has been a sort of protective shield; and it is when you come to drop this shield that you realize that’s what it was. You weren’t as sure and powerful as you thought you were- you were insecure and reliant on a restricted worldview that kept you feeling familiar and safe. It is when you have to drop this that you meet all the inner fear you were hiding from.
But it is only through this surrender that we can ever come to feel held, connected to a guiding source, and in tune with the broader universe.
It is through surrender that we see how we have been so attached to things that are holding us back, that our need for control was fearful and restrictive, and that what we truly desire is always rooted in a sense of openness, allowance and relaxation— the opposite of control.
Imagine being able to untether yourself from anything stressing you out, blocking your path, or boxing you in. Being able to rise above, flow around or simply drift through the negative forces in your life. This is what happens when we surrender, which is to let go and allow universal consciousness to act on a situation without our interference. It is an act that affirms trust, love, and abundance.
Whenever you are stressed, feeling caught up, or confused as to a decision to make: Do Nothing. Relax. Release. And invite Spirit to act on the situation instead. You will be amazed at the clarity, guidance and miracles you receive.
